  1. loyalty

So I have decided to launch a new trial scheme to promote the Facebook page and hopefully redirect people to the website. It's a loyalty scheme called 'Fan Crank' that rewards likers participation in my new page. I don't know how it will go down, considering I don't have too many likers right now, but I do think that I should reward people for putting up with my constant posting on the facebook page (I'm sure the 150 are getting pretty sick of seeing the competiotn post being repeated every few hours!)

Basically the app records everyones interaction with the facebook page and produces a leader board based on how many likes and shares people make/generate. Every month the person at the top of the leader board will receive a code that will generate a discount at the checkout when purchasing a portrait from the website!
For this first month the discount is 10% but, depending on how well this works, I may change it to more rewarding discounts in the future!

    Let's see how it goes!!

  2. It has transpired that Thursday is the best day for me to get a chance to blog, even if it is later in the evening!
Today I've been working on a commission from my sister site, so I thought it would be a great time to let you know about it.

Canvas Art UK is my original business; I began thinking about creating artwork for people when I had a little spare time on my hands a month before I gave birth to my son. It had long been an ambition of mine to be able to provide people with artwork that they want rather than what is forced on them in high street department and DIY stores and when I was contemplating taking time off from my day job as maternity leave I imagined filling that time with creating such artwork. Obviously being a new mum took priority and I didn't get an awful lot of actual spare time! But it did give me a chance to understand that there were ways and means available to me to start something new.

I began creating artwork and selling it on eBay (I still sell a few pieces there) but as the years went by and I started to build a portfolio of work I decided I needed somewhere to showcase it, so the natural move was to create my own website.
I have never been what I would call a 'traditional artist', I am not particularly creative so do not create my own art per se. I have always loved to paint and draw so my philosophy became centred on realising art for other people. Taking their ideas and inspiration and making it a reality on canvas. So, instead of creating my own images and hoping someone would like them and buy them, I advertised my wares as being able to have 'whatever you want hand painted onto canvas'.
The concept proved pretty successful and it has been thoroughly enjoyable; I love hearing my clients ideas and marvel at their imagination, in fact a lot of subsequent work has come from original ideas from my clients and for that I am always grateful.
Using my clients imagination I have been allowed to create art featuring everything from babies to balloons, fairies to foxgloves, and I have recorded all of it in a digital portfolio over on my sister site so please feel free to take a look!

The piece I have been working on today is an image from my clients favourite holiday destination; a holiday resort in Bulgaria called Sunny Beach Hills and it is on a massive 60x36" frame! It's a biggun!! ;-)
It's definitely not something I would have ever created without being asked for it, especially not on such a large scale! Which I guess is the beauty of my job, I love it when clients come to me with their ideas and requests and I love to say YES I can do it!!
I will consider literally any image on any size frame - I'm waiting for someone to ask for a really really big one! The bigger the painting the more exciting it gets! I also love the challenge too, working with peoples ideas to create something visually pleasing and effective as artwork.... it's fab!

Bespoke Canvas Art was born from Canvas Art UK as, even though I have had many a request for the weird and wonderful, the majority of requests have been for portraiture and it only seemed right to be able to offer it as an exclusive service.
But, I cannot forget where I started and will always offer my clients literally anything they want hand painted onto canvas....
I'm looking forward to my next challenge!
